A training of trainers (ToT) seminar on tobacco dependence treatment (TDT), led by the team from the King Hussein Cancer Center of Jordan and by an expert from Egypt, brought together 20 participants from the following specialties: pulmonology, oncology, occupational medicine and responsible for tobacco control of the Ministry of Health. The training produced many general recommendations for strengthening tobacco control in Tunisia.
Brazil’s mental health and addiction (MHA) patients have received little help to combat smoking, according to Global Bridges grantee João Mauricio Castaldelli-Maia, MD. His project focused on the implementation of evidence-based tobacco dependence treatment within MHA units that did not run specialized treatment for smoking.
