SCCoPE program makes progress in strengthening treatment capacity

The Strengthening Tobacco Cessation Capacity of Primary Care Professionals (SCCoPE) program team shared a progress report from its ongoing work in Rajasthan and Odisha, India.

SCCoPE is designing and evaluating a training program to strengthen primary care providers’ capacity to provide effective, evidence-based tobacco dependence treatment via brief interventions.  The innovative project aims to help these states overcome a significant gap in tobacco control by creating a network of cessation experts supporting the National Tobacco Control Programme.
